Financial Controller

This is a dynamic collection of businesses across Belfast. Having grown rapidly through both organic growth and acquisitions, we are now seeking a driven and skilled finance professional to join our team as the Financial Controller, working closely with the Managing Director.
WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY:

• Full preparation of quarterly management accounts.
• Liaising with auditors in the preparation of year-end accounts.
• Liaising with our banking partners on quarterly /annual performance reviews.
• Balance sheet / creditor reconciliations.
• Monitoring and analysing key performance daily to track financial performance.
• Oversight and review of overhead spending and supplier charges.
• Conducting margin reviews by product/supplier to assess profitability and viability.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Assisting with the collation of payroll information where required.
• Managing a team of 5 finance/admin staff across the businesses.

OTHER AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Managing and developing the abilities of the accounts team.
• Working with the operations director and MD to improve systems and automate the business where possible.
• Providing commercial information to the Senior Management team.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Strong Sage Line 50 and Excel skills.
• Strong technical accounting skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines.
• The ability to objectively analyse data and make recommendations to the MD.
