Senior Solicitor - Motor and Casualty
We are joining forces with a leading law firm specialising in insurance to recruit a Senior Solicitor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading firm in Northern Ireland, representing key insurance clients across the UK. The role offers the chance to work on high-value claims in the High Court, particularly focusing on Motor and Casualty matters.
As a Senior Solicitor, you will manage your own caseload, handling complex claims involving indemnity and liability issues, while supervising junior colleagues and providing guidance. You will be required to demonstrate attention to detail and strategic legal expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of High Court claims, providing updates and addressing client queries.
- Analyse evidence, medical records, and liability issues.
- Draft technical advice on indemnity, liability, quantum, and causation.
- Interview witnesses, draft statements, and liaise with involved parties.
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, and applications.
- Instruct counsel and attend conferences, mediations, and court hearings.
- Meet performance targets and maintain case management systems.
- Supervise junior team members and delegate tasks.
- Ensure compliance with LSNI regulations and participate in business development activities.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Qualified solicitor or relevant legal experience.
- Strong experience in indemnity, liability, and quantum.
- Experience with complex medical cases preferred.
- Critical thinking and quantum analysis expertise.
- Excellent interpersonal and client care skills.
- Solid understanding of case law, litigation, and Court Practice Rules.
- Proactive and adaptable with a focus on development.
- Ability to innovate and seek advice when necessary.
- Clear in providing guidance to junior team members.
