Financial Performance Officer

The role

• Control the preparation of revenue and capital estimates to enable the agreement of spending plans.
• Ensure accounting standards are adhered to, set policies and procedures and provide financial guidance to all levels of management.
• Calculate the financial impact of capital programme on rates and on the long term financial strategy.
• Conduct financial planning and investment appraisal exercises.
• Ensure a coordinated approach to meeting changing demands within the finance function.
• Maintain and develop ledgers to enhance efficiency.
• Ensure management accounting practices and procedures are compliant with current legislative requirement.
• Develop, review and report on performance measures for new and existing staff in line with good accounting practices.

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

• A degree or qualification in a relevant discipline eg Finance or accountancy.
• Be a member of a CCAB recognised body OR demonstrate at least 4 years’ relevant experience.
• Possess at least 2 years; experience in a computerised accounting environment.

Desirable:

• Public sector experience
