We are currently working with a large Public Sector body in recruiting for a Resource Advisor to join a team based in Belfast City Centre.
Main purpose of job
Responsible through the Resource Officer (Sustainable Resource Management (SRM)) to the Waste Manager (Service Planning & Delivery), working as part of a team to support and deliver the aims of the Council’s waste strategy, waste plans and contribute to the delivery of the Belfast Agenda and Climate Action Plan Support the improvement of the waste management behaviours of householders and the business community through providing advice, guidance and information on waste management and environmental sustainability through door-stepping and other
awareness raising initiatives. Assist in assessing the effectiveness of the waste behavioural change campaigns
through undertaking surveys, data collection and monitoring, and undertake follow up pre-enforcement or promotion action as required.
Summary of responsibilities and personal duties
1. Actively promote the waste hierarchy through providing a front line advice, guidance and education service to householders and the business community.
2. Support the introduction of new recycling schemes and initiatives through raising awareness of environmental sustainability and green issues amongst households and the business community.
3. Deliver improved customer services in all waste management activities and capturing data in relation to these activities to track performance management and provide evidence based decision making.
4. Carry out a programme of work as identified by the Resource Officer (SRM).
Qualifications and experience
Applicants must, as at the closing date for receipt of application forms:
Have a full, current driving licence which enables them to drive in Northern Ireland, or have access to a form of transport which enables them to carry out the duties of the post in full.
Be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, at least one year’s relevant experience, gained in the workplace.
a) dealing with members of the public as part of their daily duties in a face-to-face
environment, including dealing with confrontational situations;
b) compiling and analysing service information; and
c) undertaking marketing and promotional activities and events.
Hourly rate: £14.65
Hours of work: Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm (37 hours pw)
Duration: this is a short leafleting project – 4 weeks
