Overview

MCS are delgighted to partner with a well-regarded law firm based in Belfast, who are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Matrimonial Solicitor to join their dynamic Family Law team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with over five years of experience to handle complex cases and provide expert advice in all aspects of matrimonial and family law.

Key Responsibilities


  • Case Management: Handle a diverse caseload of matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, financial settlements, and child custody disputes.

  • Client Engagement: Provide compassionate and professional legal advice to clients, guiding them through sensitive and challenging situations.

  • Negotiation: Advocate for clients in negotiations and strive to reach amicable agreements where possible.

  • Court Representation: Prepare and represent clients in court proceedings as required.

  • Legal Documentation: Draft and review legal documents, including prenuptial agreements, separation agreements, and consent orders.

  • Compliance: Ensure all legal advice and actions comply with relevant laws and professional regulations.

  • Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high standard of service.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across departments to share knowledge and deliver comprehensive legal solutions.

Experience and Skills Requirements


  • Legal Expertise: Minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience in matrimonial and family law.

  • Client-Centric Approach: Strong ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.

  • Negotiation and Advocacy: Proven skills in negotiating settlements and representing clients in court.

  • Legal Drafting: Expertise in drafting comprehensive and accurate legal documents.

  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet tight deadlines.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to provide practical solutions.

  • Professional Integrity: Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.

Education Requirements


  • Qualified solicitor with valid practising certificate in Northern Ireland.
