VANRATH is delighted to have partnered with a leading food supply chain / logistics company to recruit a Senior Business Development Manager to join their talented team.
Salary/ Benefits
£65,000 - £73,000 plus undisclosed bonus. In addition to this, the position comes with a range of fantastic benefits, company car allowance (£7,000!) and equipment provided.
Responsibilities
- Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business (75-80% of the time is business developing) and catering to existing accounts.
- Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organisation.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve sales growth in Ireland.
- Maintain a robust business development pipeline.
- Proactively approach potential clients, presenting temperature-controlled supply chain solutions and demonstrating their value and benefits.
- Take ownership of Salesforce and other CRM tools, ensuring data accuracy and effective pipeline management.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to maximise profitability, including implementing rate increases and effective yield management.
- Build and maintain a strong network within the Irish food industry, attending relevant events, fairs, and sector meetings to expand the customer portfolio.
- Provide strategic insights and support to the Business Development Director.
- Stay informed on competitive trends, pricing strategies, and workforce dynamics within the region to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
The Ideal Person
- Business management or related degree
- 5+ years sales management / business development
- Food sector sales experience or similar chilled logistics (non-negotiable)
- Network and understanding within Irish food industry
