Rate of pay: £17.94
Location: Belfast
Hours: 37 Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm.
Duration: 6 months, possible extension
Start Date: Depending on security clearance
Job Duties:
The Board is looking to appoint a Police Performance Monitoring Officer on a temporary basis to cover a vacancy. The successful candidate will report to the Police Performance Monitoring Manager within the Board’s Performance Directorate. This post plays a key role in the monitoring and analysis of the Policing Plan 2020-2025 & Annual Performance Plan 2024-25. This includes reporting directly to the Board’s three Committees on the PSNI’s performance against the Outcomes, Indicators and Measures of the plan. The role also includes initiating and overseeing research to complement the Policing Plan. The role will require providing support for the development of the new Policing Plan 2025-30 and Annual Performance Plan 2025-26. In addition the role requires providing support to the Board on scrutiny of the performance of the National Crime Agency.
Key roles and Responsibilities will include:
- Gather reliably sourced information from a range of sources to enable provision of analysis and research relating to police performance and to undertake and provide briefing papers, memos, and correspondence as required on a wide range of policing and criminal justice issues;
- Attending various Policing Board and committee meetings and briefing the Senior Management Team and Policing Board Members on a range of police performance issues;
- Assist in the general development and production of analysis, research and information within the Police Performance Monitoring Branch;
- Carry out critical analysis of large volumes of information;
- Collate relevant information from key stakeholders through a process of consultation;
- Delivering actions as agreed with the Police Performance Monitoring Manager to ensure business objectives are met;
- Create, maintain and enhance productive internal and external working relationships.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Skill and ability to research and analyse information to write high quality reports.
Strong oral presentation skills to be able to present papers at Committee.
Strong communication skills in order to effectively develop and maintain strong working relationships with relevant external stakeholders.
