Technical Manager

MCS Group are proud to be working with a successful business based just outside of Craigavon to recruit a Technical Manager.

As the technical manager you will be responsible for Quality Control, compliance and product development.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect and analyse samples and record results of various parameters
• Guarantee trace-ability for all products e.g. record and batch incoming products, print haz-chem labels with associated batch number.
• Complete certificate of analysis and send to customers where required.
• Regular reviews of internal and external processes and QC documentation.
• Ensure the business is compliant with all relevant legislation
• Work with operations to review, update and implement Health and Safety policy on a regular basis.
• Implement ISO standards where appropriate and conduct annual internal audits, calibration, incident and non-conformance reporting.
• Work with the sales team and management to regularly review new product development priorities.
• Be able to plan and manage the full life cycle of product development from concept to market offering including feasibility studies.
• Carry out ad hoc product development for when requested
• Review market trends and product developments to report back to sales team and management
• Manage and oversee laboratory staff.
• Work closely with other managers in the business to aid planning and provide high levels of customer service.
• Keep the laboratory and equipment clean and tidy.
• Manage stock levels for laboratory e.g. reagents and labels.

Essential Criteria

• Degree level in Chemistry or related field
• At least 3 years’ practical laboratory experience.
• Previous experience in a supervisory/ management role.
• Previous experience dealing with chemical regulatory matters.
• Demonstrate a technical ability to develop new products.
• Experience in formulation chemistry.

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
