Role: Housing Advisor – Temporary – Belfast
Job Overview
VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector organisation, in their search for a Housing Advisor for 3 months initially with the possibility of extension. You will collaborate with relevant internal departments and agencies to deliver high-quality housing solutions and support tailored to customer needs.
- Salary: £15.70/hour
- 37 hours per week
- Belfast city centre office
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide housing advice, tenancy sustainment support, and homelessness prevention services, addressing diverse customer needs and risks at an early stage.
- Manage cases related to homelessness assistance and tenancy sustainment, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while achieving timely and effective resolutions.
- Make decisions in line with organisational Standing Orders and the Board Scheme of Delegations, ensuring all outcomes are proportionate, legal, auditable, and necessary.
- Monitor and manage performance measures to enhance business operations and identify areas for improvement.
- Draft responses to letters and complaints on behalf of the Business Area Manager, specifically related to their caseload, and ensure effective communication.
- Provide cover within the office as needed and undertake additional duties to support the team’s operations and continuity of service.
Essential Criteria:
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
- Hold a degree (or a qualification of an equivalent academic level) and have a minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
- Hold a B Tech Higher (or a qualification of an equivalent academic level) and have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
- Exceptionally, candidates without the above qualifications but with 3 years relevant experience will also be considered.
Relevant experience must include:
- Interpreting relevant policies and statutory requirements to make appropriate decisions that meet customer needs.
- Collaborating effectively as part of a team to achieve shared outcomes.
- Gathering information to understand customer needs and identifying practical solutions.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective housing solutions.
- Experience in housing is desirable.
