Job Description

The GIS Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and management of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) across the whole organisation.

The post holder requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, communication, and project management skills. They will facilitate the integration of GIS solutions across multiple platforms and departments, ensuring that geospatial data is accurately captured, analysed, and utilised. They will also be expected to promote the benefits of GIS utilisation to relevant stakeholders and senior management.

Essential Criteria

• Degree, or equivalent, in Geography, GIS or other relevant discipline plus 3 years work experience developing and utilizing Geographical Information Systems (GIS) into business-as-usual OR Post Graduate Degree/Masters in GIS or other relevant discipline, plus 2 years work experience developing and utilizing Geographical Information Systems (GIS) into business as usual.
• Experience of strategy planning, development, and implementation.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and communications (internal & external) including an ability to influence senior managers and manage customer expectations.
• Experience of leading, developing, and motivating staff in a data-driven organisation.

Desirable Criteria

• Member of Association for Geographic Information (AGI)
• Project Management, or appropriate professional body membership.
• Possess experience of the public transport market.
• Programming experience in SQL or Python
• Experience of ESRI GIS software infrastructure
• A full valid driving licence
