and weekly payment of wages the week after your working week

in the Dining Room: 32.5-37.5 Hours per week,
Working every other weekend, shifts are 7.30-3.30 or
10.30-6.30 in or dining room

relate easily to staff and the general public.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Prepare
and cook basic food ingredients including breakfast items, vegetables, fruit,
salads, sandwiches and other hot/cold items for patients, clients, staff and
visitors.
2.
To
ensure quality is maintained with regard to recipes, cooking procedures,
practices, portion control and presentation.
3.
Use
a range of catering machinery / equipment including industrial ovens, deep fat
fryers, mixers, slicers, salamander, coffee machine, Merichef etc.
4.
Serve
customers in a friendly and courteous manner and to be able to follow
departmental guidelines in relation to food safety, e.g. allergens and
temperature control.
5.
To
report any complaints and issues regarding food quality to a supervisor/Manager
6.
Undertake count of patient menu cards as
required.
7.
To
understand and comply with HACCP and ensure accurate recording and monitoring
on HACCP forms.
8.
Ensure
personal hygiene and food hygiene standards are achieved and maintained.
9.
Ensure
that stock is monitored, stored correctly and used in rotation.
10.
To undertake cleaning duties within the
Catering Department as detailed on work schedules or as instructed and to sign
off own schedule when own work is completed.
11. To carry out
dishwashing /utensil washing duties as required.
12.
To
empty and clean waste bins, remove waste bags and place for collection.
13.
Opening
and locking up of work areas, where necessary.
14.
Dealing
with telephone enquiries to and from the wards, completing patient menus,
recording messages and referring calls within the department as appropriate.
15.
Undertake
cash handling duties as required and associated complete cashing up duties
Complete all necessary sales controls and documentation.
16. To adhere to all Catering Policies and
Procedures / COSHH / Colour Coding/ Food Safety Regulations (this includes the
wearing of protective clothing provided).
17.
To
ensure the correct and economical use of provisions, consumables and equipment.
18. To report any sightings of pests or
infestations immediately to a supervisor or manager.
19.
To
report defective equipment /services to a supervisor or manager after basic
trouble shooting checks have been completed
