The role
- Contribute to developing policies on registration and suitability assessments while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of procedures, legislation, and standards.
- Handle complex cases, including risk assessments, evidence evaluation, and investigation planning to ensure public protection.
- Communicate sensitive case details with stakeholders, prepare evidence-based reports for hearings, and guide solicitors in case presentations.
- Manage referrals, tribunal appeals, and sanction reviews, ensuring compliance with regulatory rules and decisions.
- Review and improve processes, contribute to quality initiatives, and analyse statistics to maintain confidence in regulatory functions.
- Support and guide team members, collaborate on projects, and deliver or participate in training for professional development.
- Oversee legal service costs, maintain secure records, ensure confidentiality, and work within a performance management framework to meet organisational objectives.
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
- Possess a degree/professional qualification in law, human resources or social work and experience including of formal investigation and presenting information in formal settings.
OR
- At least five years’ relevant experience to include experience of formal investigation and of presenting information in formal settings, for example, court settings, disciplinary hearings or case conferences.
- Ability to assess and advise on risk and public protection issues.
- Ability to produce clear, evidence-based reports on complex matters.
Desirable:
- Previous experience of working in the public sector
