About the Work Coach role:
Work Coaches are based in the Front Office of a JBO.
A Work Coach assists claimants to secure and maintain employment tailored to their individual needs. For this to happen they must understand the entire end to end claimant journey and appreciate the impact on other areas and signpost the claimant to the relevant support. To do this the Work Coach will use a range of channels including face to face or telephone interviews always emphasising the importance of using the Journal for recording work preparation and job search activities.
A Work Coach provides regular advice, guidance, coaching and information to our claimants, empowering them to become, where feasible, self-sufficient in their journey towards work. They offer the right choices and support to meet the needs of our customers. They establish and explain the next steps for the claimant and explain their responsibilities in the process such as reporting change of circumstances. Highlight the potential consequences of non-compliance to the claimant and explain how the sanction process works.
Due to the wide-ranging claimant base, it is vital Work Coaches have the skills and knowledge to deliver an effective, proactive, and valuable service.
Build constructive relationships with the external Delivery Partners.
