What you will do:
- Compliance & Tax Management: Support the UK Head of Tax to manage the Bank’s relationship with HMRC and ensure compliance with VAT, corporation tax, and operational tax requirements.
- Collaborative environment: Work alongside various internal teams to manage tax processes effectively and ensure smooth operations.
- Effective communication: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and facilitating clear communication on tax-related matters.
What you will have:
- Experience: A qualified or part-qualified accountant with 5+ years of tax-related experience.
- Tax knowledge: A solid understanding of tax laws and regulations, including VAT and corporation tax.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the ability to manage data and create efficient spreadsheet models. Knowledge of tools like Alteryx or SQL is beneficial but not essential.
- Analytical ability: Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills: Both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships at all levels within the organisation.
- Confidentiality: You’ll need to be comfortable handling sensitive information discreetly.
