IT Project Manager

Role Description

IT Project Managers are key to deliver successful technology change projects for NI Water and support the IT Programme of Work. Your work portfolio will be drawn from the ICT Programme of Work and may include projects on Cyber Security, Unified Collaboration & Telephony, Microsoft365, Mobile Work Management ERP, Customer CRM, Business Analytics, Cloud Integration, line of business applications and across IT Base Maintenance.

Within the Information Services Directorate, the Programme Management Office undertake a number of business-critical programmes /projects on behalf of NI Water through the management and delivery of the ICT Programme of Work.

Following identification of business needs from across all Directorates and Business prioritisation of projects, an annual Programme obtains executive approval. Programme includes Base Maintenance projects that maintain the operational integrity of the NIW ICT infrastructure plus Enabling projects introducing new IT Services and Systems to deliver against organisational strategic goals. Programme Management Office works with

Directorates to agree ICT projects for inclusion in the programme of work with identification of business efficiency savings and specification of operational requirements.

The current FY24/25 programme currently comprises of 110 projects, with similar programmes of technology change anticipated for following years. This is an important role within Information Services Directorate and NI Water as the successful implementation of technology projects is key to supporting and enabling achievement of NI Water strategic goals. This role will directly ensure that the ICT Programme of Work successfully delivers the Technology projects prioritised through the CIO Forum and approved by the NI Water Executive Committee.

Entry Requirements

Applicants MUST be able to demonstrate in their application and where necessary at interview:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

1. A minimum of 4 years demonstrative and effective Project Management experience with evidence of the delivery of successful outcomes against agreed objectives, budget and timelines of significant (>£150K individual project cost or benefit) projects within an ICT Environment; particularly in relation to infrastructure and networking, enterprise relationship management systems, application development, enterprise telecommunications and Cyber Security.

2. A minimum of 4 years demonstrative experience of effective professional project management using both Waterfall (Prince2) and Agile (DSDM, Scrum, Lean) Project Methodologies.

3. Proven ability to manage and influence multiple internal and external stakeholder relationships at all levels in the delivery of successful projects and demonstrating effective project delivery experience with blue chip supply chain and software development houses.

4. Qualifications in Project Management (e.g. Waterfall: PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP and Agile: DSDM or Scrum).

This role offers a competitive remuneration package with a salary scale of £42,356 to £55,808 per annum (pay award pending)

The starting salary will normally be at the first point of the scale.
