MCS Group is proud to be working with an innovative company based in the UK to recruit a Field Service Engineer in Northern Ireland or the United Kingdom.
As a field service engineer, you will play a key role in providing a high level of customer service post-sale. This role involves significant travel, as you will perform regular and ad hoc service, fault-finding, repair, and commissioning activities across different sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure daily work contributes to the departmental goal of high-quality output
- Ensure established safety guidelines; promote a safe workplace
- Complete and maintain accurate and high-quality records and work reports
- Ensure quality standards and that work is effective, correct, and thorough
- Plan and prepare for successful service activities (including reviewing previous work reports, parts anticipated, customer/site requirements, and logistics)
- Be responsible for the completion of Risk Assessment & Method Statements
- Perform regular and ad hoc service, fault-finding, repair, testing, commissioning and training activities
- Submit accurate and timely records of travel time, working time, expenses, parts and materials used
- Assist with installation and manufacturing tasks and projects
- Build strong relationships and liaise with the group Service organisation to ensure regular information exchange and that you can rely on ad-hoc support as needed
- Promote proposals for the improvement of processes and products (CIP, Kaizen, LEAN)
- Ensure value and optimise material and tool equipment
Essential Criteria
- Strong educational base, with hands-on knowledge of engineering
- Mechanical and electrical Knowledge (e.g. pumps, pipework)
- A full clean driving license
- Ability to work single-phase and 3 phase electrical systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with the ability to read engineering drawings.
- Right to work in the UK
- Flexibility to travel up to 4 times per week
