Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) or equivalent, one of which should be in English or relevant NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • Minimum 1 year paid or voluntary experience of working in a Health Care or Education setting
  • Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an enhanced Access NI check and compliance due to the nature of this work
  • Up to date Immunisation records to complete a full occupational health review
  • Ability to build rapport with ease
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced user-centric environment

Responsibilities

  • To maintain a caseload of allocated clients, prioritising (where appropriate) and reporting activity and changes to the occupational therapist
  • To conduct initial interviews with clients and/or next of kin, gathering details and information about the client
  • Where appropriate, to accompany therapists on home risk assessment visits.
  • To ensure the safe and competent use of assistive/adaptive equipment
  • Deliver a service, which meets all organisational and professional responsibilities
  • Prepare/present appropriate specialist professional reports as required
  • Communicate effectively with patients and ensure there is an understanding of their condition
  • Promote and support effective team working, fostering a culture of openness and transparency
  • Support the service’s leadership team
  • Maintain a high level of safety to ensure all service users are kept safe
