Role Overview
To source and purchase materials for H&J Martin Construction at the most advantageous price, ensuring correct stock levels and storage of materials.

What you'll do

· The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive.

· Take lead on procurement activities

· Maintain good working relationships with site personnel

· Prepare and issue materials and subcontract enquiries

· Procurement of materials using COINS purchase to pay system

· Check quotations are compliant with specification and commercial requirements

· Liaise with commercial team/site managers on vendor selection

· Negotiate terms of orders and discounts

· Prepare and issues orders in a timely manner

· Carry out vendor appraisal as required

· Assist estimators where required

· Assist accounts department with any order related queries

· Maintain an open and honest relations with the supply chain

· Behave in an environmentally sensitive manner

· Carry out any other relevant duties as required

· Develop relationships with suppliers

· Develop Procurement Reports

· Competent Navigation of Drawings / Specifications / Bills of Quantities

· Process Plant Orders

What you’ll bring

Essential:

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Buyer role

· Excellent IT skills particularly Microsoft Office Excel and Word

· High attention to detail

· Problem solving abilities

· Good negotiation skills

· Can work under pressure and multi task

· Have knowledge of budgets and finances

· Have a can-do attitude

Desirable:

· Experience with accounting software
