We are currently recruiting for a Communications Assistant to join a Large Public Sector body.
INIITAL LOCATION
The location will be in one of the Strategic Planning and Performance Group’s (SPPG) geographical areas, including Linen hall Street in Belfast, Gransha Park House in Derry/Londonderry, County Hall in Ballymena and Tower Hill in Armagh.
JOB SUMMARY
The Strategic Planning and Performance Group (SPPG) plans and oversees the delivery of health and social care services for the population of Northern Ireland. The Group is part of the Department of Health and is accountable to the Minister
for Health. It is responsible for planning, improving and overseeing the delivery of effective, high quality, safe health and social care services within available resources.
The SPPG is now seeking to recruit a suitably experienced and motivated communications assistant to support its communications service, and work with colleagues right across the system, to ensure the public, staff and key
stakeholders have a clear understanding of the key developments and challenges facing health and social care (HSC).
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the organisation and provision of comprehensive and confidential administrative duties to support the Communications Department.
- Take appropriate action upon receipt of emails, telephone calls and other enquiries to the Communications Department, ensuring necessary follow up action is taken.
- Provide routine advice and information to SPPG staff on all communications issues.
- Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external to the SPPG, maintaining appropriate communication networks and presenting a professional image appropriate to the Communications
- Department.
Criteria
A qualification in a Communications related field AND 1 years’ relevant experience in a communications or admin/clerical at band 3 level or equivalent.
OR
4 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or higher, including English and Maths AND 2 years’ experience in communications or admin / clerical role at band 3 level or equivalent.
