The Department for the Economy (DfE) is seeking to appoint up to 4 new Members to the Board of the Health & Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI), an executive Non-Departmental Public Body with Crown status.
This is a rewarding and important role. Please note that experience of Health and Safety issues is not essential. HSENI's mission is to reduce work-related serious injury and ill-health in Northern Ireland.
The appointments are effective from 1 May 2025 for a four-year term.
The time commitment amounts to 1.5 days per month, or equivalent and current remuneration is £4,195 per annum. All reasonable receipted dependent carer expenses will also be reimbursed where applicable.
Currently young people, people with a disability, those from minority ethnic communities and people from an agricultural background are under-represented on the Board and applications from members of these groups would be particularly welcome.

No academic qualifications are required for the post. Applicants are required to submit evidence of competency against 4 essential criteria in total - 3 mandatory criteria and a choice of 1 of the remaining 3 criteria. Appointment will be made on merit from those individuals who best satisfy the essential criteria, and all criteria carry equal weight.
