Exciting Opportunity for a Hygiene Operative – Join a Leading Production Facility

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Hygiene Operative with one of our key clients, a well-established production facility that prioritises food safety and cleanliness. This is an essential role where you will be directly responsible for maintaining the highest hygiene standards, ensuring that all production areas, equipment, and machinery meet food safety regulations.

As a Hygiene Operative, you will work closely with the Operations Manager to maintain a clean, safe environment for production. This role is key to ensuring the company meets all food safety and quality standards, making it an ideal position for someone who takes pride in their work and is dedicated to ensuring cleanliness and safety in a production setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Routine Cleaning & Sanitisation:

  • Carry out cleaning and sanitisation tasks across production areas, equipment, machinery, and surfaces, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Keep workspaces tidy, organised, and free from contamination, contributing to a safe and efficient production environment.

Adherence to Hygiene Standards:

  • Follow strict cleaning schedules provided by the Operations Manager to ensure all tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards.
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals and materials in line with company protocols, ensuring safe and efficient use.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and housekeeping practices in accordance with company guidelines.

Compliance with Food Safety Regulations:

  • Ensure hygiene activities comply with food safety regulations such as HACCP and BRC standards.
  • Report and record any hygiene-related issues, promptly addressing any deviations from standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure all areas are clean, safe, and free from contamination risks.

Waste Management:

  • Ensure waste materials are disposed of safely and in line with company procedures, including recycling.
  • Keep waste bins clean to prevent contamination or odours.

Equipment & Machinery Care:

  • Clean and disinfect food production machinery after use, maintaining product safety and quality.
  • Conduct deep cleaning of equipment during scheduled downtime or maintenance periods.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Follow health and safety regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the Operations Manager immediately.

What We're Looking For:

  • Attention to Detail: You should be diligent and able to spot even the smallest contamination risks.
  • Experience in Hygiene or Cleaning Roles: Previous experience in a cleaning or hygiene role, ideally within a production or food environment.
  • Team Player with Initiative: While you will work independently, you’ll need to collaborate closely with the production team to ensure seamless operations.
  • Commitment to Food Safety Standards: A strong understanding of food safety regulations and the ability to ensure adherence to them.
  • Organisational Skills: You’ll need to be organised and efficient, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards.
  • Health & Safety Awareness: Familiarity with health and safety procedures and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.

What We Offer:

  • Full-time position with regular hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 6:30 pm (40 hours per week, including a half-hour unpaid break).
  • Competitive pay and a supportive working environment where your contributions are valued.
  • An opportunity to work in a well-established company with a strong commitment to food safety and hygiene.
  • Room for growth and the chance to develop within a growing organisation.

If you are someone who takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
