Our client, one of the largest Control Systems Houses in Northern Ireland, offers a wide range of market-leading products, including smart controls for managing lighting, heating, refrigeration, and other specialist energy equipment. Due to their continued success, they are currently seeking a BMS Project Manager to join their team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Operations Director, this hybrid role involves a combination of office-based and site work, with occasional travel across the UK and Ireland as required by projects.
- Team Management: Oversee, schedule, plan, and organise a team of engineers to complete tasks within time and budget constraints. Additional resources will be provided as needed.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate directly with contractors, sub-contractors, clients, and end users to ensure projects are delivered successfully, meeting customer satisfaction and budget goals.
- Project Handover: Coordinate with the Sales Engineer to understand project requirements and ensure successful delivery from concept to completion.
- Supplier Coordination: Manage supplier relationships, including ordering and receiving parts.
- Invoicing: Handle monthly invoicing for completed works.
- Budget Planning: Actively participate in setting the Service Project budget at the start of the financial year, focusing on revenue targets, profitability, and headcount needs.
- SMT Meetings: Attend quarterly SMT meetings to present updates on targets and address any identified strengths and weaknesses.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate should have the following skills and attributes:
- At least 3 years of experience delivering Service Projects as a BMS professional, with in-depth knowledge of Trend (IQ4, IQ Vision & SET).
- Recent experience in upgrading clients' legacy BMS systems.
- Proficiency in fault finding and modifying both old and new control panels.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to independently interrogate and write complex control strategies to support the team.
- A solid understanding of Modbus, BACnet, and Dali technologies, with the capability to assist the team in overcoming challenges.
- Willingness to undergo training to lead and upskill the team in Siemens BMS technologies.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, with a strong focus on achieving targets within specified timeframes.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland as needed.
