Dispute Resolution Officer - Belfast

Dispute Resolution Officer required to work with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive based in Belfast City Centre.
This role is full-time working Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm with an hourly rate of £21.98. Initially the position is on a temporary basis for 6 months with possibility of an extension based on performance.

The main duties include:

• To assist the Dispute Resolution Manager, to deliver a comprehensive and consistent approach to Construction Dispute Resolution
• To resolve various matters that are in dispute with the parties involved through the processes and procedures under the contract
• Preparing clear and accurate information to manage the issues referred to the Dispute Unit
• Managing resolution of contract disputes and claims, through contractual procedures
• To prepare Recommendation Papers and Business Cases in relation to proposed resolution of disputes and settlements

What We Need From You

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant Building/Construction Discipline
• Minimum of 5 year’s relevant experience working in a similar field
• Must demonstrate relevant experience in understanding:
  - The NEC contract documents structure
  - Managing of early warnings and compensation events
  - The inspection of works to determine compliance with specification and delivery of projects through NEC contract management
  - The collection, analysis, distilling and reporting if contract related issues/disputes
  - Engaging with legal advisors providing accurate and timely information to assist issues
