NPI Engineer

MCS Group is proud to be working with an innovative manufacturing company based in Dundalk to recruit an NPI Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Own the Request for Quote (RFQ) process from start to finish.
• Review customer drawings to figure out what materials, manufacturing, and processing are needed.
• Work with the team to create and review quotes using our Epicor system.
• Collaborate with external design engineers to resolve any issues or uncertainties.
• Gather pricing data and machine specs from the team, then put together cost analysis for new opportunities.
• Manage the entire New Product Introduction (NPI) process.

• Set up and track new products through our ERP system, ensuring all processes are followed.
• Work with different teams (quality, engineering, purchasing, planning, production) to review new parts.
• Look for ways to improve processes and remove any inefficiencies.
• Work on continuous improvement projects to reduce cycle time, costs, defects, and downtime.
• Ensure we comply with industry standards and keep everything well-documented.
• Coordinate with planning to get NPI parts scheduled into production.
• Run NPI stand-up meetings to track progress and review the status of each part.
• Prepare job packages and inspection sheets for new products.

• Collect data and attend Engineering Review meetings, as well as create reports to track how the RFQ and NPI processes are performing.
• Compare the cycle times quoted vs actual results and update Epicor as needed.

Essential Criteria

• A degree in Engineering or relevant (Level 7+)
• At least 2 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Strong experience with CNC machines and robotics.
• Experience mentoring or working with technicians is a plus.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

• Great communication and interpersonal skills.
