DevOps Engineer (AWS)

MCS Group is delighted to be working with a global leader in the FinTech sector to recruit a DevOps Engineer for their Belfast-based team. This organisation is at the cutting edge of financial trading, driving multi-billion-dollar transactions across more than 60 global offices.

As an experienced DevOps Engineer, you’ll join a well-established company where you’ll work on an innovative global open-source project, focusing on platform tooling and observability.

What you'll be doing:

• Design, deploy, maintain, and integrate observability solutions aligned with global IT strategy alongside the DevOps and Automation team
• Collaborate on a global open-source framework project, enhancing observability and embedding it into critical software applications
• Partner with Quality Assurance and Software Development teams to ensure high-quality deliverables that align with governance and architectural standards
• Develop key features, address blockers, and ensure timely project delivery
• Assist with incident management by resolving production defects and adhering to change control processes.
• Manage dependencies and risks while providing technical expertise to support software design decisions

Who you are:

• Solid background as a DevOps Engineer or Software Engineer with DevOps tooling experience
• Proficiency with public cloud platforms, ideally AWS
• Skilled in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Helm
• Familiarity with containerisation and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of application management tools (e.g., Git, Sourcecode, DevOps)
• Awareness of quality in the software lifecycle, including unit/integration testing, is an advantage
• Previous experience as a Software Engineer is desirable but not required
