Senior HR Business Partner – Permanent – Belfast

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation as they look to add a Senior HR Business Partner to their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role:

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in industrial relations, union negotiations, and a proven track record of managing high-volume HR operations. As a trusted advisor to leadership, you will play a critical role in driving employee relations, developing HR strategies, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and collective agreements.

The main responsibilities:

  • Lead negotiations with trade unions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and maintaining positive labor relations.
  • Provide expert advice on industrial relations strategies, grievance handling, and dispute resolution.
  • Partner with senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organisational goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on talent management, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Manage high-volume employee relations issues, including disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.
  • Oversee HR compliance processes, ensuring alignment with employment laws and company standards.
  • Manage HR metrics and reporting, identifying trends and recommending action plans to address workforce challenges.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and effective communication.

The successful candidate:

  • 5 years+ experience in an HR role with a focus on industrial relations and employee relations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in leading negotiations with trade unions.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Degree in HR/Business/Law or related discipline or relevant experience.
  • CIPD or equivalent an advantage.
