DevOps Engineer

MCS Group is proud to be partnering with a global leader in the FinTech industry as they recruit for a DevOps Engineer to join their Belfast team. This company is at the forefront of the financial trading sector, facilitating multi-billion dollar deals across their 60+ offices across the world.

As an experienced DevOps Engineer, you will be joining a long-standing, well-established organisation, where you will work on the cutting-edge of a global open source project with a focus on platform tooling and observability.

The Role:

• Collaborate on designing, deploying, maintaining and integrating an observability solution aligned with the global IT strategy alongside the wider DevOps and Automation team
• Work on a global scale open source framework project, focusing on improving observability and embedding this into software applications used across the global organisation
• Partner with Quality Assurance and Software Development teams to deliver high-quality software, adhering to governance and architectural standards
• Contribute to key feature development, addressing impediments to ensure timely delivery
• Support incident management by resolving production defects and ensuring change control compliance
• Manage project dependencies and risks while providing technical input to guide software design

• Salary up to £60k

The Person:

• You will have a strong background as a hands on DevOps engineer or software engineer with devOps tooling experience
• Experience with public cloud platform - ideally AWS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools e.g. Terraform or Helm
• Experience with containerisation and CICD pipelines
• Strong understanding of application management tools e.g. Sourcecode, Git, DevOps
• Ideally have experience or awareness of quality within the software lifecycle including unit/ integration testing or software development
• Previous experience working as a Software Engineer is a bonus but not essential
