VANRATH are pleased to be partnered with a large Public Sector body in County Antrim, in their recruitment of a Project Accountant to take on a new assignment. This is an interim role for an initial period of 6 months however with numerous new projects identified in 2025, this is an excellent foot-in-the-door opportunity with one of the region’s most recognisable employers.

The Project Accountant will head up a small team of finance professionals who are tasked with manipulating and interpreting large data sets in line with specified projects and will take responsibility for the accuracy and validity of results. Working closely with the Head of Cost Accounting, the Project Accountant will analyse and present results to Senior Management, alongside recommendation for improvements, cost savings etc.

About you

• Qualified Accountant with at least 1 years PQE
• Supervisory experience
• Strong IT skills including MS Excel and Power BI (Beneficial)
• Ability to communicate directly with non-finance stakeholders
• Available at short notice

What you’ll do

• Supervise small team of data analysts ensuring daily tasks are completed
• Review and validate financial reporting results
• Analyse trends & patterns with an ability to produce accurate financial reports for senior management
• Present & discuss financial figures to senior leaders, with an ability to make recommendations on areas for improvement
• Ad hoc project accounting
