Hays have a temporary job opportunity for an Estates Medical Devices Officer to work with a large public sector organisation based in East Belfast.
Your new role
This is an initial 6 month contract post to join the Medical Devices division within this organisation who are growing the division from a current team of 3, they plan to appoint a further 6 new people all into permanent positions. You will be based in Dundonald with the option to work from home 1 day per week with the working hours between Monday and Friday, 37.5 per week.Reporting to the Medical Devices Manager your main duties will include:
- Managing the preventative and corrective maintenance on a range of medical devices
- Communicating with companies, nurses and housekeepers
- Prioritising and managing urgent tasks in a hospital setting
- Utilising the asset management system e-Quip
- Performing routine inspections on critical machinery in and out of clean rooms, maintaining good sanitary practice
- Establishing and organising digital records of physical documents
- Creating and modifying Standard Operating Procedures
- Communicating and liaising with contractors, organising maintenance

What you'll need to succeed
To be eligible for this position you must be able to demonstrate the following qualifications:
A degree in a relevant subject plus 2 years’ relevant experience
OR
A HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant subject together plus 4 years’ relevant experience
AND
Experience in managing equipment and up-to-date methods of maintenance planning.
Experience in the control and deployment of in-house maintenance staff and/or contractors.
Knowledge of current health & safety legislation and best practice guidance associated with medical devices.
What you'll get in return
This position offers full time hours 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday based from a modern office working alongside a highly experienced and professional team.
Salary range £35,392 - £42,618 pro rata on a PAYE basis. The rate of pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Annual leave entitlement of 27 days and 10 public holidays. You will be paid weekly via BACS transfer every Friday morning.
