Apple Recruitment are recruiting for Quality Assurance Testing Lead (Band 7) on
behalf of our client, HSCNI Business Services Organisation (BSO) Information Technology
Services (ITS) to work on a temporary basis in the Belfast area.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Setting Direction
1. Use expert
knowledge and experience to guide design and development of testing strategies,
plans, scripts and method for Major Programmes which impact clinical and
non-clinical areas.
2. Keep abreast of
developments to the technologies used in the Service Area, review these
developments and advise on their potential impact on system testing.
Service Delivery
3.) Analyse,
investigate and produce recommendations from a range of options on how to
design and implement test plans and approaches, monitor and track progress and
achieve sign off on a highly complex Major Programme.
4.) Plan, develop,
manage, review and own the overall test programme/strategy which will cross all
medical specialty areas, hardware and software testing, data migration, complex
interface testing and infrastructure readiness and resilience.
5.) Analyse and
implement test quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the program
wide test strategy.
6.) Develop and manage
test schedules in order to meet Programme constraints and deadlines and
sequence test activities logically.
7.) Development of and
integration of testing plans, timelines and milestones into the overall project
and programme plans and adjust as necessary due to project requirements and
constraints.
8.) Allocation of
testing tasks to external, Authority and Trust staff
9.) Assign owners and
delegate responsibility for testing areas and scripts.
10.)
Actively participate in on-going application development projects to
ensure that expert knowledge is gained and applied in order to provide
excellent application testing and support.
11.)
Provide expert advice, guidance and training to less experienced
colleagues where required.
12.)
Provide support and guidance to Authority and Trust users on data
quality issues and ensure that where further training is required, this is
logged and followed through.

1a. Degree/HND in ICT or related discipline with 5
years relevant experience* in an IT environment.
OR
1b. 7 years relevant experience* in an IT
environment.
*Relevant
experience is an ICT Test role in an organisation with 50+ users. Years of
experience is based on full time
work. If the experience is gained from less than a normal working week (37.5
hours) then the average hours per week should be stated on the application
form.
2. Essential skills:
·
Proven experience in a Test Management and/or Test Lead Consultant role
·
An expert knowledge of the principles of software testing including
testing of major programmes with significant interdependencies.
·
Definition of test conditions and analysis and reporting of test
activities and results
·
Ability to write and review complex test documents e.g. strategies,
plans, scripts
·
Have worked with a range of internal and external stakeholders to
achieve successful outcomes.
·
Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
·
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
·
Experience of working with Testing Tools including Automated Testing
Tools
3. Essential knowledge:
·
An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
including Word, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel
·
Ability to provide ICT technical advice/guidance at a level of detail
that the recipient can understand. This ranges from an individual level to
giving presentations to large groups of multidisciplinary stakeholders where intricate
and/or technical information has to be explained in layman’s terms.
Desirable Criteria:
·
Knowledge of the structure and key business of
Health & Social Care
·
An understanding of the role of technology in
delivering Health and Social Care.
·
Experience of large scale data migration
projects*
·
Experience of set up and configuration of test
automation framework.
·
ISTQB/ISEB Certification
*Large scale data migration is migration of TBs of records from multiple
sources to a new system.
Further Details:
•
Hourly Rate: £22.37
•
Hours: 37.5 hours pw, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
•
Duration: 3 months (with possibility of extension)
