MCS Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality professional to join our client's quality team as the Head of Supplier Quality Assurance in County Antrim.

You will join a leading manufacturing company and will have a focus on regulating, controlling, and improving supplier quality performance, driving continuous improvement in production through inspection of incoming materials, and addressing quality challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate and monitor new and critical suppliers; resolve supplier-related issues during inspection/assembly.
  • Define and track SQA KPIs, implementing corrective actions for non-performance.
  • Lead root cause analyses, corrective/preventative actions, and quality audits.
  • Implement processes to recharge costs for supplier-related production impacts.
  • Support production by reducing non-conforming materials and driving supplier-based quality improvements.
  • Maintain and update quality management systems in line with ISO 9001.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers on quality matters.
  • Lead and supervise quality personnel to resolve material quality concerns.
  • Ensure timely reporting against agreed quality metrics.

Essential Requirements:

  • A trade qualification in engineering or a related field, obtained through a four-year apprenticeship program/ or a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in engineering or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience within the Automotive or aeronautical industry

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience within a manufacturing environment within a quality role.
  • Proven ability to define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality teams.
  • Experience rejecting non-conforming materials and resolving supplier material complaints.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Proficient in conducting internal and external quality audits.

Specialist Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills to assess data, trends, and quality metrics.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific quality procedures and continuous improvement principles.
  • Proficient in inspecting/testing materials and updating quality documentation.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications for data management and reporting.
  • Travel for business purposes, to meet with local and overseas suppliers.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods in manufacturing.
