PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Community Partnership Officer will be responsible for the provision of development, support and guidance to VSS funded Community Partner organisations that deliver support and services to victims and survivors of the Troubles/conflict, Historical Institutional Abuse and Mother and Baby Homes, Magdelene Laundries and Workhouses.

The key elements that constitute the role of the Community Partnership Officer for the Victims and Survivors Service are as follows:

  • To work collaboratively with VSS Community Partners, key stakeholders and the wider community and voluntary sector to encourage partnership working to develop ongoing support and services to victims and survivors.
  • To provide support and assistance to VSS Community Partner organisations to prepare, implement and monitor strategic and operational delivery plans in line with agreed targets set within the Terms and Conditions of their funding contract.
  • To engage and assist in the development of outcomes focussed monitoring and evaluation systems and processes for VSS Programmes, in order to effectively analyse the impact of the support provided to Community Partners on the health and wellbeing of Victims and Survivors.

COMMUNICATION

  • Provide effective, evidence-based advice and information to the Community Partnership Manager and VSS Senior Management Team.
  • Prepare reports, attend meetings and represent the Victims and Survivors Service in events and activities at the request of the senior management.
  • Optimise the success of project and programme delivery plans by being responsive and solution focused.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Responsible for the line management of direct reports within the team, including performance management.
  • Lead and motivate direct reports to achieve targets and deliver high-quality results, providing guidance, coaching and feedback.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, PERFORMANCE AND PROFESSIONALISM

  • Endeavour to ensure the ongoing confidence of VSS stakeholders, maintaining the high standards of personal accountability.
  • Develop interpersonal skills and self-motivation required to facilitate liaison with professional and senior management within stakeholder organisations.
  • Foster a positive and respectful work environment, promoting collaboration, teamwork and open communication.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and professional standards while representing the organisation.

By the closing date for applications, candidates must demonstrate that they fulfil each of the following essential criteria:

  1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience of programme or project experience working within the community and voluntary sector.
  2. Practical experience of developing positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across the community and voluntary sector.
  3. Experience in staff management and/or co-ordinating team activities.
  4. Practical experience developing Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks and monitoring progress against key outcomes.
  5. Experience of analysing complex financial and non-financial information and producing recommendations to management.
  6. A current UK Driving License with access to a car. This will be waived in the case of an applicant whose disability prohibits driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements.
