Commercial Insurance Broker

MCS is delighted to be recruiting for a leading insurance broker who are experiencing a period of significant growth and are seeking to expand their commercial team by adding a skilled Commercial Insurance Broker to their Belfast team. In what will be a varied role, this position will see the successful individual involved in a wide array of policies and trades – and as such, multiple insurance product knowledge is essential.

This is a brand new, full-time permanent job opportunity in the firm’s Belfast office. This is a hybrid role – 3 days in-office and 2 days WFH each week. Working week of Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

What your day would look like

• Working directly with clients in the broking, processing and administration of new business, MTAs and renewals
• Provision of complete professional insurance advice and services to existing clients
• Negotiating with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for clients
• Ensuring clients clearly understand the terms and extent of cover provided in line with industry regulations
• Advising clients on risk management and helping to devise new ways to mitigate risk
• Working closely with senior brokers and account directors on renewals
• Maintaining relationships with key partners in the market – meetings and regular feedback
• Arranging specialised types of insurance cover – preparing reports for underwriters and surveyors and negotiating with insurers

Your skills

• 3+ years’ experience within a varied Commercial Insurance role – such as Commercial Broker, Commercial Account Handler or similar
• Working knowledge of multiple insurance products – i.e. property, motor, liability, etc.
• Proven trading and relationship management skills
• CII qualification (or similar) or working towards this is ideal
• Knowledge of Acturis (or similar) insurance software is desirable but not essential
