Full Circle Generation (FCG) is a gasification plant situated in Belfast’s Harbour Estate and is capable of recovering energy form 160,000mt of refuse derived fuel each year.  FCG is an investor led consortium of Equitis, P3P Partners and River Ridge, and is managed by EMS Management Services Ltd.

Belfast | Full Time

Salary: £28,080 per annum, plus shift allowance £2,046

Hours of work: Normal working hours are 40 hours per week

Early Shift: - 6.00am to 1.00pm / 6.00am to 2.00pm

Late Shift: - 2.00pm to 10.00pm

Weekend: - 7.00am to 12.00pm (1 every 4th week)

About The Role

We are currently seeking a logical thinking individual to join our team as a Day Shift Operator (waste management).  Acting under the direction of the Day Operations Team Lead and Operations Manager you would be responsible, as part of the main plant Operations team, for the safe, effective, and efficient operation of fuel and reagents reception, and residue removal.  Whilst ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities policy.

Main duties of the role include, but are not restricted to:

  • Chemical/Sundries Stock Check
  • Weighbelt Sampling & Moisture Check
  • IBA Samples
  • Undergrate Samples
  • Assist with Chemical Top-ups
  • Organize Ash Bags in advance of Collection
  • Check fill level of Large Skips
  • Mobile Plant Checks
  • Load/Unload lorries
  • Offload Bulk Tanker loads of Sorbacal (Lime)
  • Load Bulk Tanker with APCr
  • Banksman Duties in TUS
  • Manage RDF Deliveries/offloads
  • Truck Sample & Moisture Check
  • Complete RDF Delivery Record Sheet
  • End of Daily Operation Clean up
  • Assist with anything that may be required of them by other Departments were reasonably practicable

Required Criteria

  • Fork Lift Truck certification
  • Experience in the operation of mobile plant e.g. MEWP, Telehandler, Crane
  • Computer literate
  • Problem solving / logical thinking ability
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work flexibly and cooperate within a shift environment
  • Comfortable working in a lean and highly customer focused structure.
  • Able to work unsupervised and take responsibility during dynamic situations.

Desired Criteria

  • Ability to undertake report writing
  • Lifting / slinging experience
  • Understanding of safe systems of work i.e., plant isolations and safety systems
  • Understand computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Process or Power Plant experience
  • Traffic Management/Banksman experience
  • Material handling and storage
  • Process manufacturing experience
