ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT – Coleraine Area

SALARY: £27,000 per annum

EMPLOYMENT: Permanent, full-time, office-based opportunity

Reed Accountancy is delighted to be partnered with a highly reputable and growing client in the Coleraine area in the appointment of an Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic team on a permanent and full-time basis.

This is a varied tole, and the successful Accounts Assistant will provide support to the Finance team in all aspects of Accounts Payable, Credit Control and Transaction Finance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chasing of customer late payments and monitoring debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtor days
  • Entering of Supplier invoices onto the Purchase Ledger and preparing payments to suppliers
  • Supplier statement reconciliation and month end closing
  • Raising queries through the appropriate channel, ensuring queries are resolved in a timely manner by liaising with relevant stakeholders
  • Manage customer invoice runs
  • Produce monthly reports as required
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers, as well as internal personnel
  • Timely posting and reconciliation of all customer payments
  • Evaluate credit limits based on company standards and requirements
  • Main point of contact with Management Accounts to resolve queries and provide support for bank reconciliation
  • Help to successfully embed a continuous improvement culture by suggesting and implementing ideas to streamline and improve Transaction Finance processes
  • Provide cover for other key tasks within the team as required, including audit requests
  • Ad-hoc administration duties as requested.

What you need to succeed:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload to achieve required personal and organisational objectives
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills and a proven team player
  • Hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Commercial awareness and ability to work confidentially
