We are seeking a candidate to lead and manage the audit and governance functions of our client's organisation, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
The role involves overseeing internal audits, risk management, and governance processes to enhance organisational efficiency and accountability.

Your new role

• Internal Audit Management: Plan, execute, and oversee internal audits to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
• Governance: Ensure robust governance frameworks are in place, promoting transparency and accountability.
• Reporting: Prepare and present audit reports to senior management and relevant committees, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
• Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and governance.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of audit professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and address any concerns.

What you'll need to succeed

• A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
• Proven experience in audit, risk management, and governance within the public sector.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• In-depth knowledge of public sector audit standards, risk management frameworks, and governance best practices.
