Hays Accountancy & Finance are seeking an accountant with our client who are a well known company within their field, offering a permanent position for those newly qualified or QTE. This role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the commercial success of the business, making it ideal for someone transitioning into the industry.

Your new role

• Assist in preparing monthly and year-end financial statements for the company, with the flexibility to work across different subsidiaries
• Provide detailed supporting schedules to the Financial Controller and auditors
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller to develop internal reporting for subsidiaries, focusing on production efficiency and consolidated accounts
• Contribute to cash flow forecasts
• Assist in developing automated reporting systems
• Work closely with the Financial Controller to enhance systems and business efficiencies
• Support the month-end and annual close processes, including accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliation, fixed asset depreciation, accruals, and prepayments
• Conduct monthly reviews of overheads
• Prepare journal entries and perform monthly account reconciliations
• Assist in preparing VAT returns
• Assist in preparing reports for external stakeholders
• Help resolve ad hoc accounting issues and queries
• Ensure intercompany balances between subsidiaries are maintained

What you'll need to succeed

• Newly qualified accountant or QTE
• Strong experience with Excel and financial systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
