Alpha Housing is a
growing housing association and charity, providing quality, affordable social
homes and support throughout Northern Ireland.
Alpha currently manages
a stock of 1,000 homes in 40 locations across Northern Ireland. Our homes are
mainly sheltered housing, also known as ‘independent living’, for older people.
However, we also provide an increasing number of family homes through our
growing newbuild programme.
We
are currently seeking a Senior Finance Officer to be responsible for the
day-to-day administration of Alpha’s financial and accounting records including
payment systems, nominal ledger, purchase ledger, fixed asset records and
payroll processing. This post will also play a key role in developing Alpha’s
financial systems using MS Excel to enhance Alpha’s financial processes and
reports.
Applicants
should meet the following criteria
Professional
accountancy qualification at least to IATI/AAT level qualification or part
qualified to final stage of one of the CAAB accountancy bodies.
A
minimum of 3 years' working within a finance department with responsibility for
preparation of accounts to the trial balance stage.
A
minimum of 3 years' experience working within a finance department with responsibility
for at least three of the following:

Preparation of bank reconciliations
·
Preparation of monthly payroll
·
Preparation of financial reports
·
Preparation of regular supplier payment runs for uploading onto an
online banking system
Practical
experience of developing and operating IT systems.
Possess MS Excel skills with the ability to design
and create models which support processes and reporting efficiency.
