The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting for a Supplies & Logistics Officer to join a large Public Sector body based on Boucher Road.
MAIN PURPOSE
- To deliver an efficient and effective service in the procurement, provision, management and safekeeping of all vehicles, PPE and consumables, Operational equipment, uniform for the Fire & Rescue Service.
- To work initially in a specified operational discipline, with flexibility to work across multiple disciplines to ensure resilience and continuity of service.
- To participate in the regional Duty Standby Rota and respond to support Service delivery activities.
- As a key holder be responsible for opening and closing the Service Support Centre outside of normal working hours as required. To be the point of contact for all alarm system activation's.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Stock Management
- To deliver an efficient and effective service in the procurement, provision, management and safekeeping of all vehicles, PPE, consumables, operational equipment and uniform for the Fire & Rescue Service.
- To monitor and record levels of stock and non-stock items, liaising with suppliers and stakeholders , raising replenishment orders as required using the electronic stock management system. Liaise with procurement and Supplies & Logistics Manager for the development of Stock Codes.
- To identify, remove and list redundant stock for disposal and prepare items for back loading and disposal including, but not limited to, parts, IT equipment, uniforms, ladders, Contaminated & Environmental waste, Dangerous goods and vehicles in accordance with the Disposal Policy.
To assist in the preparation of appropriate business cases, tenders and quotations, in line with financial and procurement regulations, policies and procedures and corporate timescales.
To provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion.
To ensure continued and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders such as other employees, middle managers and external suppliers.
- To undertake the duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile.
- To comply with all frameworks, policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to legal requirements such as equality, health and safety and information governance.
Experience and Qualifications
Either:
Possess an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
A minimum of three years experience within a demanding multi-commodity stores environment, to include experience using an electronic stores management system.
Or
Possess an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
A minimum of four years experience within a demanding multi-commodity stores environment, to include experience using an electronic stores management system.
Or
A minimum of five years experience within a demanding multi-commodity stores environment, to include experience using an electronic stores management system.
