VANRATH are delighted to be partnered with a recognisable employer based in Belfast city centre who are recruiting an Accountant to join their team. This is an initial temporary position until April 2025 and will allow the successful candidate to gain sought-after public-sector experience.

The Accountant will assist with the Head Accountant in the efficient delivery of the full range of financial functions throughout the department, this will include contributing to the strategic and operational management of the financial resources. To be considered for this role it is essential to be a Fully Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Accountant, with at least 12 months experience of working in a similar role.

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Ability to analyse highly complex/sensitive data
• Ability to review and challenge work processes
• Strong communication skills with a proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders and differing levels
• Available to start at short notice

What you’ll do

• Assisting in the delivery of the financial performance for the organisation
• Ensuring effective delivery of projects to agreed timescales
• Working with senior finance staff in managing budget expenditure
• Providing specialist financial advice in line with the business cases within the department
• Ad-hoc project work
