Our client, a public sector organization within the City and Neighbourhood Services Department, seeks a proactive and responsible Park Warden. This role is essential for maintaining public spaces, ensuring safety, enforcing by-laws, and providing a welcoming environment for visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforcement & Public Safety: Conduct patrols, enforce by-laws including dog control and litter regulations, and manage antisocial behaviors by issuing warnings or fixed penalties. Liaise with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) as needed.
  • Public Interaction & Engagement: Lead public activities like guided tours, educational talks, and park events to foster community engagement. Assist visitors with information and resolve any complaints.
  • Property Management: Secure park properties by locking facilities, reporting vandalism, performing minor repairs, and updating signage. Maintain cleanliness by removing litter, hazardous materials, and graffiti.
  • Routine Inspections: Perform safety checks on playgrounds, paths, lighting, and park amenities. Document inspection findings, incident reports, and other maintenance needs.
  • Community Outreach & Education: Engage with local schools, activity groups, and the general public, promoting appropriate park use and encouraging positive experiences.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, wear necessary PPE, and contribute to a secure environment for all park users. Provide first aid when necessary.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in public interaction, security roles (e.g., facility patrols, alarm settings), and enforcement or legislative roles (e.g., dog control, litter regulations).
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, customer care, and report writing abilities; team collaboration skills and the ability to make independent, safety-focused decisions.
