Job Opportunity: Warehouse Operative (Public Sector)

A leading public sector client is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join their team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to support critical services that ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement, safekeeping, and distribution of vehicles, PPE, operational equipment, and uniforms.
• Oversee stock management by monitoring levels, placing replenishment orders, and maintaining the electronic stock management system.
• Organize the collection, delivery, and disposal of goods, ensuring compliance with disposal policies.
• Handle the fitting and distribution of firefighting PPE and other equipment, ensuring it meets national safety standards.
• Participate in regional duty standby rotas, providing operational support as needed.
• Operate forklifts (counterbalance and reach) and other mechanical handling equipment to move stock efficiently.
• Conduct regular stocktaking and audits to ensure accurate inventory management.
• Assist with contract management by liaising with suppliers and monitoring performance.

Essential Criteria:

• 3-5 years of experience in a multi-commodity stores or warehouse environment, including use of an electronic stock management system.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Forklift license (counterbalance and reach) or willingness to obtain.
