Overview
We are seeking experienced Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Technicians to join our growing Maintenance Department. This role involves performing day-to-day electrical and mechanical maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, carrying out both preventive and reactive tasks. The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment, with responsibilities including troubleshooting, repairing machinery, and supporting production output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns efficiently.
  • Maintain thorough communication and documentation of all changes and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate as an essential part of the engineering team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform routine, preventive, and reactive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure all tasks meet the high standards required within a manufacturing environment, adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Participate in Health and Safety compliance, including Permit to Work and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) systems.
  • Report any safety concerns, incidents, or near misses promptly to the line manager.
  • Attend relevant training sessions to maintain qualifications and competence.
  • Foster effective working relationships with key stakeholders and team members.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the line management in line with qualifications and competencies.

Essential Criteria

  • Completed apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines within a manufacturing setting.
  • BTEC ONC qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical fault finding and planned maintenance.
  • Ability to operate effectively under time pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a logical and organised approach.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and availability for continental day and night shifts.

Desirable Criteria

  • BTEC HNC/HND qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry (e.g., Pharmaceutical).
  • Familiarity with control systems and automated equipment.

Additional Information
This role is based at a site that produces and handles penicillin, so it may not be suitable for individuals with penicillin allergies. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and provide proof of this upon application. Late applications will not be considered.
