MCS Group is proud to work with a leading food manufacturing company in Craigavon, to recruit an experienced Operations Team Leader.

As the operations team leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and delegation of duties to your team, to ensure the delivery of shift, daily, and weekly production goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for your team members, ensuring regular communication and ensure the majority of issues are dealt with/ or when necessary flag to the relevant manager
  • Provide a first point of contact for other functions outside of normal office hours and to escalate any issues.
  • Communicate regularly with the departmental manager on all current and potential future issues.
  • Coach and mentor the team to enable their performance standards in safety, quality, cost. delivery and environmental.
  • Allocate work, manage staffing levels and ensure attendance, grievance and disciplinary matters are dealt with in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all team training needs are identified, monitored. and reviewed
  • Ensure timely and accurate records are maintained of all production adjustments, and that all operational checks are carried out and documented
  • Monitor all process controls on a continuous basis and ensure your team members carry out the necessary adjustments to maintain production within specification and minimise waste.
  • Ensure Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times

Essential Criteria

  • 1 - 3 years recent and relevant experience of shift supervision and team leadership in a production or manufacturing environment, with evidence of having monitored KPIs and introduced initiatives to ensure consistent achievement of production targets.
  • GCSE pass level in Maths & English.
  • Experience in using standardised work instructions
  • Knowledge of how safe working practices are applied and how a safe place of work (SPOW) can be enhanced through operator inclusively.
  • Carried out Risk Assessments and hazard elimination.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment where multiple workstations interact together to deliver an efficiently manufactured product.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
