Product Design Engineer

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Product Engineer to develop and maintain accurate product specifications that meet customer requirements and align with our clients manufacturing capabilities. You will be responsible for designing and procuring job-specific tooling and maintaining detailed records of product specifications. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
  • Evaluate new product requests and engineer the most efficient manufacturing process using in-depth knowledge of machine capabilities.
  • Review and interpret customer-supplied specifications, ensuring they align with our manufacturing capabilities. Document and communicate any discrepancies with the customer.
  • Convert customer information into internal specification formats using AutoCAD and communicate directly with customers for approval.
  • Generate clear internal product specifications in SAP, providing essential details to manufacturing teams for production.
  • Supply accurate product data to SAP specialists for the creation of Bills of Materials and production routings.
  • Design and order job-specific tooling in line with manufacturing specifications.
  • Manage design advancements and control internal and external change requests to meet customer requirements.
  • Work closely with various departments on new business development projects in line with company goals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any Product Engineering or manufacturing-related issues, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Participate in customer audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Third level Qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 2-4 years of relevant design and development experience.
