Apple Recruitment are recruiting for a Band 3 Production Support Worker to assist the Radiopharmacy Department on behalf of our client, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, and be based in the Belfast area.

Main duties and responsibilities:

· Daily preparation of all equipment, work areas both within and outside the clean room. Cleaning down of these areas at the close of day or as necessary. This includes setting equipment in the critical zones.

· Daily cleaning of the clean area floors and surfaces. After planned maintenance or breakdown cleaning floors, surfaces, walls and ceilings. Cleaning effectiveness is monitored on a weekly basis.

· Washing, preparing and assessing containers and shielded equipment for aseptic preparation.

· Assisting in the aseptic dispensing process.

· Completing all necessary manufacturing documentation appropriate to their input.

· Placing manufactured batches in quarantine and forwarding samples for assessment.

· On authorisation, remove the batch from quarantine and placing in store, ready for use.

· Participating in routine monitoring of the environment, including settle plate, contact plates, swabs, air sampling and water sampling.

· Participating in regular micro-biological operator checks including finger touch plates and broth transfers.

· Assembling and packing orders for dispatch including completion of records of distribution.

· Assisting in demonstrating procedures to trainees, relevant to their post.

· To manage production support worker tasks within the area of responsibility.

· To participate in weekend and statutory holiday rota if requested.

· Record keeping, environmental monitoring, computerised data entry (e.g. microbial excursions data) and processing as required within the Radiopharmacy and Cyclotron production units.

· Administrative tasks associated with the Radiopharmacy service and the Cyclotron production facility.

· Stock control within the Radiopharmacy and Cyclotron production units.

You must also include a bullet pointed synopsis at the top of your CV demonstrating how exactly you meet the Essential Criteria below:

1a). 3 GCSEs or equivalent to include English and Maths Grades A-C

AND 12 months experience as a Band 2 or higher in any area of a Hospital Service

OR

1b.) 12 months experience as a pharmacy assistant/technician in Community Pharmacy.

2.) Essentials skills and knowledge:

· Ability to consistently produce accurate work to a high standard.

· Attention to detail and be able to work to standard operating procedures.

· Have experience working with computers and/or word processing skills.

· Ability to work as part of a team with other grades of staff

Desirable Criteria:

1. Excellent communication skills and telephone skills

2. Ability to successfully carry out allocated tasks on own initiative

3. Ability to comprehend simple principles underlying tasks

4. Willing to undertake NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy qualification or other

Further Details:

· Hourly Rate: £11.67

· Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 1.30pm

· Duration: Up to 3 months with possibility of extension
