Hays are supporting a market-leading manufacturing company in their search for a Technical Buyer.

Your new role
This Technical Buyer role reports directly to the Procurement Manager and will support the successful purchasing of goods for production with the best possible lead times and costings. The post holder will be innovative and efficient in the sourcing of materials and equipment and support in the management of supplier performance and maintaining good working relations with suppliers and customers. You will conduct pricing and service negotiations and maintain stock levels and supply chain flow to ensure customers experience the best service and goods. This role will suit a commercially aware procurement or purchasing professional with proven experience in managing others to provide the best service possible. This opportunity will suit any person keen to get involved with a range of challenging projects in a fast moving environment.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience of Maintenance equipment and sourcing
• Experience working in a purchasing or procurement role
• Be able to think creatively and offer solutions
• Have strong communication and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
• Experience of working within in a busy department within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
• An understanding of technical CAD drawings is desirable.
• Understanding of raw materials specifications.
