Due to their continual growth our client Northern Ireland’s largest move diversified independent waste management company has a genuine opportunity for a machine operator.

License essential (one of the following)

  • Counterbalance Fork Lift
  • Shovel Driver
  • Telescopic/telehandler license

Working Hours & Hourly rate

Hourly rate: £14.00 per hour for both Shifts + Holiday pay

Hours below are a temporary until full training as been completed within the role:-

  • Week1: 7.00-5.00pm
  • Week2: 10.00am – 7.00pm

The normal standard working hours for this role after temporary hours above worked are below:

  • Week 1: 06.00am to 15.00pm
  • Week 2: 14.00pm to 11.00pm

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Operating various machines within the Facility to include mobile machinery such as forklifts and Loading Shovels.
  • Report immediately any issues with Machines to MRF Supervisor / Operations Manager
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company obligations, & Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times Ensure all Machines on site comply with the relevant H&S standards and company standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring the facility & its’ equipment is kept clean and tidy, with importance placed on housekeeping/cleaning throughout the shift (will include working at height)Any other duties as delegated by the MRF Supervisor / Operations ManagerEssential Criteria

Must have a valid licence and experience of operating one of the following machines: Telescopic Forklift, Counterbalance Forklift or Loading shovel..

  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to work well on own initiative
  • Be self-motivated
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Flexible approach to work hours

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working in the Waste industry
