Are you looking for a Design Technician role? Interested in working for a leading fit-out contractor?

VANRATH are recruiting a Design Technician to work on high end fit out projects, based in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Client:
Our client is a leading interior fit-out contractor based in Antrim, Northern Ireland. They carry out a range of fit-out projects across various sectors including luxury residential, commercial, hotels and specialist joinery projects.

The business is thriving and are winning new projects regularly. As a result, they have a great opportunity for a Design Technician to join the team on a permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in the assessment of initial information received from the Client’s designers and architects
• Liaise with Factory, Project Manager and Client’s designers and architects, sub-contractors and suppliers
• Conduct site surveys
• Produce clear, concise, and accurate drawings in line with deadlines and programme requirements, adhering to QA standards
• Collaborate with schedulers to discuss drawings and assist production with any queries
• Coordinate with the Drawing Controller regarding the distribution of drawings

The Ideal Person:

• Degree qualified or other relevant qualifications
• Experience working on fit out projects involving detailed joinery
• Strong on AutoCAD
• Good knowledge of current building regulations
• Experience with BIM projects would be ideal but not essential
• Be proactive and dedicated to completing projects on time
• Experience in technical detailing
• Strong 2D drawing skills
• Ability to use a 3D drawing package such as SolidWorks, Revit or Inventor is advantageous
• Able to commute to Antrim on a daily basis
