My client is a successful underwriting agency with
over a decade’s experience of supplying fleet insurance to companies up and
down the UK. From their HQ in London and small branch network throughout the
UK, they use a wide range of brokers to offer a personal, tailored service to
meet the needs of Hauliers, Couriers, Standard and Non-Standard fleets.
They seek to recruit a full-time permanent Commercial
Motor Underwriter to join their team in Belfast.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with
stakeholders including brokers.

Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and
good practice to minimise risk.

Write within level of authority and refer anything
outside authority level to Underwriting Manager.

Negotiate rates, terms and conditions for New
Business & Renewals.

Support other colleagues in meeting targets and
providing service.

Manage production and issuing of contract certainty
documentation.

Maximise Renewal Retention and New Business in line
with business targets.

Ensure compliance with internal and external
regulations and guidelines.

Develop a knowledge of market dynamics and market
cycles to be able to operate effectively and appropriately.
You will have good knowledge of the insurance
industry with 2 years’ Commercial Motor Fleet underwriting experience. Possess strong written, oral, and
interpersonal skills with ability to work using own initiative within
boundaries. Have effective collaboration skills across various levels and
responsibilities. Good PC literacy including Excel, Word & Outlook.
Client
is offering an attractive salary of £30,000 to £40,000 (negotiable based on skills,
ability and experience). 25 holidays plus standard bank holidays. Normal working
hours 9am-5pm. (1 hour lunch). Attractive Pension scheme. Office currently is
based in Gasworks, Belfast. Planned move to smart offices in same area.
